poetry NN
Remember how I walked away,
On a small foot, my first school day?
With tiny hands I waved goodbye,
And I saw the tears in the corner of your eye.
But you are brave and so did I.
We both tried hard not to cry.
My little legs took me to school.
I remember you saying, "Now obey the rules at any time!"
My little hands opened the door of the school
Everywhere I look, there are children in abundance.
I went down the hall to the big red "K".
There Mrs.Laura to show the way.
We make a great family, with Mrs.Laura
With this large family, we must help each other.
I've tried hard to listen throughout the year.
So when I was in first grade, I would have nothing to fear.
The muscles in my hands now much stronger.
And even my feet look much longer.
On the last day of school, as we all wave goodbye,
Do you s'pose Mrs.Laura will have tears in his eyes?
This really has been a happy school year.
And if it were not for you, Mom and Dad,
I'm not going to be here!
